DVD Review: Phineas and Ferb - Mission Marvel. Last year, The Avengers became the biggest non-James Cameron blockbuster of all-time and Marvel's owner Disney is a pioneer in mixing franchises to offer audiences something a little different. So here comes Phineas and Ferb - Mission Marvel - essentially a two-episode arc which finds the popular animated kids meeting up with The Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, and Iron Man when super villains try to wreak havoc on the city. While on paper it may seem like a cheap way to exploit more cash from fans, Mission Marvel retains the witty and self-aware humor of the brilliant animated series and gives us these well-known super heroes in a whole new package. The humor works for kids but is especially entertaining for adults - something which has made Phineas such a hit with families over the past few years on Disney Channel.

Mission Marvel is consistently funny and sure to get repeat viewing. Now, it has already aired and is available on some cable on-demand systems. But for those without that access, it makes for a portable packet of fun. Bonus features on the DVD are essentially a collection of other episodes because hey, why would someone want to buy a DVD with just a 44 minute double-episode? A small comic book and collectible poster are some extra tokens adding value to the DVD.
